Barbara Ann Corcora
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she started. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the business. Corcoran is one of ABC’s first Shark Tank investors. Since her inception she has appeared on each seasons of Shark Tank. By February 2020, she had signed 53 deals. The most significant of these was a $350,000 investment for Coverplay at 40%. Corcoran was the second child of 10 kids born to an Irish Catholic couple of working class living in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mother and was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. Her father was always changing jobs during Corcoran’s life. Sometimes, the family relied on the delivery of food that was free from a local grocer. Corcoran claims that her father was a drunk who was rude to her mother and sarcastic remarks. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and was eventually diagnosed with dyslexia. She went to a local Catholic elementary school, and then began the high school system in St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran who was in the process of failing several courses in her first year of high school, was moved to Leonia High School. There she received a grade of D.
